Do you remember Westbrae Natural Foods?
On Groundhog Day in 1971, Bob Gerner opened Westbrae Natural Foods at 1336 Gilman Street, Berkeley, CA. Later the name was changed to Gilman Street Gourmet, and Bob continued operating it for three years and then sold it. The new owner didn’t work out so in 1982 it became The Berkeley Natural Grocery with Bob and his wife, Patty, at the helm.
